To mark the 90th anniversary of the creation of Social Security, CWAers across the country will be participating in the Protect Our Checks week of actions, from August 9 through August 16.

Last week the AFL-CIO Bus Tour, “It’s Better in a Union,” continued its trek across the country, and CWA members were there to meet it along the way.

On July 14, the AFL-CIO’s “It’s Better in a Union” Bus Tour made a stop in Charlotte, N.C., during the NAACP’s 116th Annual National Convention.

During the call, CWA President Claude Cummings Jr. praised CWA members, retirees, staff, and executive board members for their response to this crisis.

Labor leaders and union members will travel the country over the next few months to engage with workers about how the Trump administration’s policies are affecting their lives.
