Axel Hawkins is a sophomore at Georgia College & State University (GSCU) studying history and political science and a proud member of United Campus Workers (UCW). Originally from Henry County, Georgia, Axel also has deep family roots in Kentucky. Passionate about community organizing politics, Axel started her work with CWA at the age of 13 as a phone banker for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign. She continued voter outreach in the 2020 Presidential and Georgia Senate races, becoming a phone bank coordinator with UCW for the 2022 midterm elections.
Axel is President of Young Democrats of GCSU and serves in the Student Government Association. She is committed to worker’s rights and CWA’s fight for economic and social justice. She is delighted to be able to connect with and support other Next Gen activists and young workers across the country as a Lead Activist.
