Local 3808; Nashville, TN
Amanda Bratcher was born in Joplin, Missouri, but her long-time home is Nashville, Tennessee, where she lives with her husband and two children. A proud ten-year member of CWA Local 3808, Amanda serves as a Local Area Representative for her building and the District 3 Lead Activist for the Next Generation program.
When Amanda realized that she was the only person in her twenties attending a Local Union meeting, her desire to organize more young people was born. She sees the potential and power in every worker who is struggling and needs a living wage and the ability to support their family. Growing up in a single-parent household and watching her mother struggle gave Amanda the motivation to fight so that other families don’t have to experience such hardships. She is inspired by the energy and motivation of young workers and hopes to channel that energy into negotiating good contracts and building a stronger Union.
