Fight for Fairness at Dish Network

There's a new way that customers can join the labor movement's campaign to help Dish Network employees gain the respect they deserve.

The AFL-CIO, the CWA and other unions have endorsed a national boycott of the satellite television service, owned by EchoStar Communications Corp. Now, for those who can't discontinue their contracts, CWA Local 9423 is distributing "Negotiate Now" stickers for customers to strategically place on their bills. That way, Dish Network will get the message that it should respect workers' rights, the local said.

Across the country, Dish workers fighting for union representation have been blocked by anti-union management that has broken the law to stop workers from having the union voice they want.

Today, Dish Network refuses to bargain fairly with workers in Farmingdale, N.Y., Pittsburgh, Pa., Topeka, Kan., and San Jose, Calif., who have voted for union representation, and management continues to intimidate and threaten workers who want a union voice.

For a supply of the stickers, contact CWA Local 9423 at 408-280-1285 or organize@cwa9423.com. For more information on the campaign, go to www.dontbuydish.com.
