Alcatel-Lucent Installation

The bargainers met today to review information concerning the Prescription Drug Plan, along with company proposals to change various Leaves of Absence, some of which include improvements and some which we believe are retrogressive.

However, as you prepare for your strike vote, in addition to the changes in the benefit plans which we described yesterday, we wanted to give you a recap of some of the other take-aways the company has proposed.  Be aware, we have not received any formal proposals yet on their plan for our jobs, which is our key issue.

Here’s the list:

  1. Reduce the time frame for the Union to file grievances;
  2. Reduce Local assignment pay;
  3. Remove allowances for change of tour and change of start time;
  4. Shorted the carry over vacation time frame;
  5. Reduce Union Representation protection from transfer;
  6. Reduce excused unpaid allowances for Union business;
  7. Eliminate Special City Allowances;
  8. Reduce per diem and lodging allowances;
  9. Reduce Lead Installer/Trainer pay;
  10. Remove allowances for ATM fees;
  11. Eliminate the national seniority for layoffs over 10 years;
  12. Reduce termination pay (layoff allowances);
  13. Eliminate the no-layoff memorandum;
  14. Double the length of the wage tables (i.e., for ACSTs from 15 6-month steps to 15 one-year steps).

 

Make sure you get the information from your Local on the Strike Vote and give us a strong “YES” vote to support your bargaining team.  Also, participate in all Mobilization activities.
