In The News: Alliance for Digital Equality Presses for Broadband Access

CWA and other members of the Alliance for Digital Equality briefed members of Congress recently on the critical need to bring high-speed broadband access to citizens in underserved communities.

ADE is a coalition of corporate, consumer, public policy and other organizations that is pushing for broadband expansion in rural and inner city areas that telecom companies have largely ignored.

"Consumers at the lower end of the pay scale should not be forced out of the digital revolution because of limited access to affordable high-speed broadband in their communities," House Majority Whip James Clyburn said at the briefing, praising ADE's work.

CWA senior director George Kohl outlined CWA's 'Speed Matters' campaign to sound the alarm that the United States is falling far behind other nations in terms of citizen access to high-speed Internet and the opportunities that technology offers.
