If We Want a Good Contract We Need to Get Involved on the Front Line
Our bargaining teams will fight for good jobs and a fair contract. But contract negotiations are never won solely at the negotiating table. On June 23rd, hundreds from New York and New England locals marched from Local 1103’s union hall to the hotel in Rye, NY, where VZ North bargaining is taking place. Members were
there to support our bargaining team and to let Verizon know we stand together.
Local 1103 leaders have this message for members:
"Verizon Bargaining will be about Member mobilization. The bargaining table will be the Big Show but the Members in the field will put the pressure on the company through mobilization activities. Our contract will be directly proportionate to our effort. Whether it’s attending a rally, writing a letter, or picketing, if we want a good contract we need to get involved on the front line. If you aren’t in this video it is time to ask yourself why you weren’t."
