Do You Hold a Political Office- Or Plan to Run?- Please Let Us Know

CWA IS TRYING TO COMPILE a list of all members of the union who hold an elected or appointed political office right now, or else are planning to run for public office next year.

This effort is part of CWA's participation in the AFL-CIO's "2000 in 2000" project to identify and recruit at least 2000 union activists to run for public office next year, and to assist them with their campaigns.

The last election push by the federation in 1998 saw the election of 420 out of 626 candidates who were identified as union members. For this election round, the AFL-CIO already has begun mobilizing with the training of political coordinators around the country.
