Workers, Allies Take Their Fight to T-Mobile Annual Meeting

CWAers, joined by student activists from United Students Against Sweatshops and AFL-CIO union supporters, leafleted outside the T-Mobile US annual meeting in Bellevue, Wash. The goal: show shareholders and the public that T-Mobile, despite the advertising dollars spent branding itself as the "cool wireless company," is really just like Walmart, another documented labor law violator.

Deutsche Telekom (DT) activists in several German cities rallied last week to show support for their partners at T-Mobile locations in the U.S. who are pushing hard for CWA representation.

TU activists will march in the Albuquerque Pride Parade this Saturday. There's a twist, however. Because the 40,000-person celebration is sponsored by T-Mobile, LGBT student leaders and others in the PRIDE community, CWAers and community allies will help focus attention on the struggle by TMUS workers for a voice and fair treatment at T-Mobile and MetroPCS.

German giant Deutsche Telekom got a big surprise this week when over a thousand international trade unionists and activists from the German union ver.di, employees of DT, rallied outside its Berlin offices to protest the virulent anti-labor practices of its U.S. subsidiary T-Mobile US.
