Dr. Wayne Moore, head of the Washington, D.C. Emergency Medical Service is in a meeting at Fire/EMS headquarters. Almost simultaneously both his and Fire Chief Donald Edwards' beepers go off and the phone rings. The messages are the same: "U.S. Capitol. Shooting incident. Two persons down."
Larry Cohen Elected CWA Executive Vice President
The Communications Workers of America has elected Larry Cohen as executive vice president. Cohen, 49, has served as CWA organizing director and assistant to CWA President Morton Bahr since 1986. He succeeds M.E. Nichols, who retired after serving in that position for 18 years.
M.E. Nichols Retires as CWA Executive Vice President
The Communications Workers of America has named M.E. "Nick" Nichols CWA Executive Vice President Emeritus, in honor and appreciation for his 18 years of service in that post and his 51 years as a part of CWA.
