We're Fighting for Good Jobs

TU and International LeadersIf there’s somethin’ strange, on your cell-phone bill. Who ya gonna call? Hopefully not Malaysia.

But, if T-Mobile USA executives had their way, that’s exactly what you’d get.

We know things can be better though, because we know that T-Mobile’s parent company Deutsche Telekom has a strong tradition of working with employees, represented by the German union ver.di.

That’s why we formed TU, a partnership of CWA and ver.di, to make sure that all T-Mobile employees have the job security, fair pay and respect we deserve. Because at an international company known for a positive employee-employer relationship, we expect better.

Through this first of its kind international partnership, we have been able to make a real. We’ve traveled to Germany to speak before Deutsche Telekom shareholders about our working conditions, we’ve hosted German workers so they can see first-hand what we deal with and we have built partnerships with religious and civil rights groups as well as elected leaders across the country. Most importantly, we’ve built a strong organization to be our voice on the job.

We were able to secure financial assistance for the 3,300 workers whose jobs were offshored by call center closures and we secured promises from the company to the Federal Communications Commission that a merger with MetroPCS won’t mean the loss of retail or call center work.

We know what when Americans call for customer service they overwhelmingly prefer to speak to someone based in the United States. That’s not just to ensure they speak with someone they can understand, that’s because when they call us they want more than someone to just read from a script, they want someone committed to actually helping them.

And that’s what we’re committed to. Quality customer service, and good jobs in our communities.

We want to make T-Mobile the best company it can be, and that starts with letting workers have a voice with CWA and TU.
