October is Customer Service Professionals Month

Throughout October and into next year, CWA customer service members and their colleagues around the globe will spotlight the accomplishments, professionalism and the problems still facing customer service and call center workers.

Get Involved

Here are ways you can be part of Customer Service Month:

  1. Join the discussion on our blog and answer our poll about what topics you'd like to see discussed there.
  2. Once you have signed up, tell your friends about the blog.
  3. Show your solidarity and/or customer service pride by downloading one of our Facebook and Twitter icons to use as your profile picture.

Customer service professionals include our members who work in the public and private sector in telecommunications, government, airlines, and the newspaper industry.  They include people who:

  • Perform direct customer service
  • Work in call centers, in sales, remote customer service, billing and collections
  • Work as telephone operators
  • Work in retail
  • Work in premise sales, such as the Yellow Pages
  • Provide technical support, such as DSL/broadband support
  • Test and repair equipment

CWA Files for Trade Adjustment Assistance for Workers Facing Layoffs as T-Mobile Sends Jobs Overseas

Arguing that 3,300 working Americans should not face severe economic hardship because their employer chooses to offshore call center work, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) has requested that the U.S. Department of Labor grant Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) benefits to T-Mobile USA customer service representatives at seven U.S. call centers enters slated for closure in June.
